Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the extramii website at extramii.com and the extramii application (together, the "Service"), provided by extramii ("extramii", "we", "us" or "our"). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of the Terms
By signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
extramii reads the school, preschool and activity WhatsApp groups and the email senders you select, and organizes what they contain into tasks, events, reminders, documents and photos of your children. The Service includes Ruby, an assistant that answers questions about that information. Features may change from time to time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service, and you must be the parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you add. The Service is for personal, non-commercial use for your own family.
4. Your Account
You sign in with your Google account and are responsible for all activity under your account. You may connect only accounts that belong to you. Notify us promptly at team@extramii.com of any unauthorized use of your account.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 WhatsApp
The Service connects to your WhatsApp account as a linked device through an unofficial client. extramii is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by WhatsApp or Meta. WhatsApp's terms do not permit unofficial clients, and WhatsApp may restrict, suspend or ban an account that uses one. The Service only reads the groups you select and never sends, replies to or reacts to messages on your behalf. Nevertheless, you connect your WhatsApp account at your own risk, and extramii is not liable for any restriction, suspension or ban of your account or any loss of chat history that results. You may unlink the Service at any time in WhatsApp under Settings → Linked devices. We cannot lift a restriction imposed by WhatsApp.
5.2 Google
Your use of Gmail and Google Calendar remains subject to Google's own terms. Our use of Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. AI-Generated Content
Tasks, dates, summaries, reminders, calendar events and Ruby's answers are generated automatically using artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, late or missing. The original message or email remains the source of truth. You are responsible for verifying any information that matters to you, such as a date, a payment, a form or a pickup time, against the original. The Service does not provide medical, legal, financial or educational advice.
7. Acceptable Use
You choose which groups and senders the Service reads, and you confirm that you are permitted to use the information they share with you to organize your own family. You agree not to:
- use the Service to monitor, track, harass or profile any other person;
- connect an account that does not belong to you;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third party's rights;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems, or interfere with their operation; or
- copy, resell or commercially exploit the Service.
8. Calendar
When you connect Google Calendar, the Service adds the events and reminders it identifies to the calendar you choose. You may turn this off in Settings and add events individually instead. Events written by the Service begin with "[extramii]" and can be removed from the App. Turning off automatic sync does not delete events already written.
9. Early-Access Testers
If you participate in our early-access testers' program, you also agree to a separate written consent that permits additional data retention, as described in the Privacy Policy. With respect to the data it covers, that consent prevails over these Terms.
10. Fees
The Service is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, the price and billing terms will be presented to you before you are charged, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and the extramii and Ruby names and characters, is owned by extramii and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own family. You retain any rights you have in the content you provide, and you grant us a license to process it solely to provide the Service to you.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL IDENTIFY EVERY MESSAGE, TASK OR EVENT THAT MATTERS TO YOU.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EXTRAMII SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM A MISSED, INCORRECT OR LATE TASK, DATE OR EVENT, A RESTRICTION OF YOUR WHATSAPP ACCOUNT, OR LOSS OF DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold extramii harmless from any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by disconnecting your sources or by deleting your account in the App under Settings → Delete my account, which deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate the Service, or your access to it, with reasonable notice, or immediately if you breach these Terms. Sections 6 and 11 through 14 survive termination.
16. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were last revised. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the App before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Open-Source Software
The Service includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms. The applicable license notices are distributed with the App.
18. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and extramii regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service.
